We are the consortium of blacksmiths in Italy. We bring together manufacturers, installers, and maintenance professionals from the artisanal metalworking sector. We offer our members a CE marking system validated by a third-party notified body, specialized training courses, and ongoing professional consultancy. We are industry professionals, supporting our members since 1999.

25 YEARS OF HISTORY: OVER 400 MEMBERS NATIONWIDE.
We provide our 400+ members with access to a CE marking system for gates and doors, validated by the third-party notified body T2i (formerly Treviso Tecnologia). We offer specialized training courses, both online via our e-learning portal and in person through classroom sessions. We collaborate with Rina Services for CE marking support on steel structures, and we are affiliated with the Confartigianato network. Our presence across Italy includes workshops, seminars, and regulatory update initiatives in partnership with key industry players.

We know the blacksmithing world well — a trade that has always evolved and that today demands a modern, professional, and informed approach. An approach that embraces new technologies, materials, and regulations, while respecting the environment and workplace safety. That’s why at CONFABIT, we believe regulatory compliance must be an essential part of everyone’s work. Our training and CE marking systems are built on this principle.
Since 2017, CONFABIT has been a Full Member of UNI (Italian National Standardization Body), and since 2019 has participated in the UNI Technical Body with two representatives in the working group 033/GL13 – Industrial, commercial, and garage doors and gates.

CONFABIT members are present in over 13 Italian regions. They include ordinary members, who can elect the board and appoint the president and vice-president, and affiliate members, with whom we maintain ongoing dialogue to improve and optimize our services. They are our true asset, the reason our consortium is a unique organization at the national level.
